ECOC Scarecrow Contest 2022 Sign Up Form

    The Eastport Chamber of Commerce was grateful to see the response of last year's Scarecrow Contest. This year, we will be providing extra points to anyone who incorporates a duck into their scarecrow for some hometown pride. 

    Contest Rules:
    • We will have a rolling entry of applications until the poles are all filled with scarecrows.
    • All scarecrows must be received at the Eastport General Store no later than Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 9:30am.
    • Scarecrows must be between 2' to 5' tall and 1'-3' wide, weather-resistant and sturdy - no food or live plants may be used in the construction of scarecrows (pumpkins, squash, etc).
    • Scarecrows will be hung by ECOC on the lamp posts on Montauk Highway throughout Eastport's business district and will be on display from October 1-31.
    • Eastport Chamber of Commerce is not responsible for any damage that may occur to scarecrows on display. If damage occurs, we will notify the applicant so applicant can make any necessary repairs. 
    • Neither the Eastport Chamber of Commerce, their officers, agents, nor employees will be held responsible for any injury or damage associated with the Scarecrow Contest.
    • As a family-friendly event, Eastport Chamber of Commerce reserves the right not to display an entry that is deemed offensive, inappropriate, or poorly constructed and may remove entries based on visitor complaints or damage. 
    • Winner will be chosen by public voting throughout October. Winner will be announced during the Eastport Chamber of Commerce Main Street Trick-or-Treat Event on October 30, 2022.
    • Participants are responsible for picking up their scarecrows at the Eastport General Store on Saturday November 12th. If scarecrow is not collected by that time, it will be disposed of. If you are unable to pick it up, please email [email protected] to arrange a pick up time.
    • Eastport Chamber of Commerce has permission to use photos of all scarecrow entries and entrant names for publicity and promotion of the event.
